Despite rumours of a possible fallout after being snubbed from contesting in Gelang Patah, Johor PKR chief Chua Jui Meng is said to remain committed to the PKR cause.
This is despite party leaders having yet to finalise which seat the PKR vice-president will contest in, and it is learnt this would be finalised during the Pakatan leadership council meeting this afternoon.
According to a source, Chua will also have a press conference tomorrow at the PKR headquarters in Tropicana over the party’s charge in the southern state, which is known to be an Umno bastion.
Chua also broke his silence of several weeks since the announcement of DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang, as the Pakatan candidate for Gelang Patah, by issuing a statement today over his presence at a Johor ceramah regarding the Pengerang Petronas Refinery and Petrochemical Integrated Development (Rapid) project.
“Chua is committed to the PKR cause although the seat which he would be contesting has not been decided yet,” said a party insider, who wanted to remain anonymous.
It is understood Chua had met with PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim, two days ago after failing to get the Gelang Patah seat.

) in a press conference yesterday was reported to have said that Chua’s matter is expected to be resolved after meeting Anwar.
Azmin said Chua will get a proper seat in Johor.
The PKR deputy president’s statement strengthens claims that Chua is slated to contest in either Kulai, Segamat or Bakri which was his traditional seat when he was an MCA vice-president.
Political talk is that Chua is likely to contest in Segamat, which was contested by the DAP in 2008. The seat was won by MIC deputy president S Subramaniam, who is the human resources minister, by a majority of 2,991.
