Those who spread pictures of pupils of SK Seri Pristana in Sungai Buloh having their meals in the school's shower room can be investigated under the Sedition Act 1948, Selangor police have warned.

Selangor deputy police chief A Thaiveegan Acting state police chief A Thaiveegan ( right ) said such images could result in provocation and racial conflict.

"Police will not hesitate to take action against those found spreading seditious information about the school over the social network," Utusan Online quoted Thaiveegan as saying.

The pictures of non-Muslim children of the school having their meals in the shower room during the current fasting month have been posted on various social networks the past three days, and have angered netizens.

Images uploaded on popular social networking site Facebook on Monday show the pupils of SK Seri Pristana sitting around tables set up in their school's shower room.

NONE The school authorities have been accused of forcing the children to eat in the makeshift dining room, located next to the toilets.

However, it was later reported that the school canteen has been closed for renovation.

also reported today that the SK Seri Pristana headmaster has been ordered to go on leave for a week and that he has lodged a police report saying he had been slandered.

Meanwhile, it is reported by Oriental Daily that the school's canteen has been reopened for student's use this afternoon, while the makeshift eating room is closed.
