An individual named ‘Father Augustus Chen’, who purportedly wrote an anti-DAP booklet during the party polls late last year, has been described as a "figment of imagination".

"The allegations of  DAP election irregularities by the fictitious ‘Father Augustus Chen’ in his booklet are nothing more than a regurgitation of many lies and baseless allegations," he said.

Lim also said the booklet - which resurfaced after the 13th general election - was written to ‘justify’ the decision of the Registrar of Societies (ROS) to get the DAP to hold fresh polls.

NONE "I was at first perplexed why the booklet of lies ... appeared last month (since) the 13th general election is over, but now I understand its appearance - to provide a semblance of  justification for Umno/BN and the ROS to act against the DAP," he said.

Umno's Kuala Pilah MP Hasan Malek had claimed yesterday that the claims in the booklet were the behind ROS order.

Lim countered that the government's use of the "fictitious" character has taken BN's "conspiracy" to invalidate the DAP polls to "bizarre" levels.
