PKR supremo Anwar Ibrahim and DAP national chairperson Karpal Singh have demanded the status report on police investigations into a BN man’s claim that the duo had ‘bribed’ judges.

They had in September lodged a police report against former Permatang Pauh BN candidate Mazlan Ismail for publicising a bulletin.

NONEIt alleged that Anwar had paid RM50 million to Karpal's law firm to bribe public prosecutors and judges.

Karpal & Co, in a letter dated yesterday to the Petaling Jaya OCPD Arjunaidi Mohamed, called for disclosure of the status of the investigation into the police report.

"According to Section 107A(2) (of the Criminal Procedure Code), police must provide a status report within two weeks from this letter," it reads.

Karpal, a veteran lawyer, has already said that he and Anwar will sue Umno-owned Utusan Malaysia for publishing the story if the daily refuses to apologise.

They are also expected to sue Mazlan who has refused to apologise and has claimed that he was only seeking an explanation.
