A man learnt that bigger is not always better after the device he purchased to enhance his penis size could only make it appear larger without any real physical improvements.

According to Star Online , having forked out RM450, he only received a magnifying glass.

Seeing red, the man has since lodged a complaint with MCA.

MCA Public Service and Complaints Bureau chairperson Michael Chong said the man from Seri Kembangan, only known as Ong, was a victim of an online scam.

"When he received the package, he was shocked to find a magnifying glass inside," he was quoted as saying.

To add insult to injury, whether a cruel joke or a genuine concern for safety, the item came with a brief instruction which read: "Do not use in sunlight."

Chong said Ong was among several victims who have lost a total of RM80,000 this year alone after falling victim to such scams.

He added that such online scams often offer products at low prices but often failed to deliver and the dubious nature of their business makes it hard to take legal action against them.

Chong said his bureau had received a total of 12 complaints concerning online scams since 2012.
