The 14 men who barged into the Penang legislative assembly will be charged in a magistrate's court tomorrow.

Northeast District police chief ACP Mior Faridalatrash Wahid said the 14 would be charged with trespassing, under Section 448 of the Penal Code.

"It is a bailable offence," Mior Faridalatrash said when met at the district police headquarters on Jalan Pattani today.

The 14, among whom are Umno members, barged into the House looking for Seri Delima assemblyperson RSN Rayer for uttering the words "Umno celaka".

Meanwhile, Rayer is also expected to be charged with sedition tomorrow for making the remark.

The 14 are from pro-Umno groups and include members of the Penang Umno Youth, Perkasa and the Federation of Peninsular Malay Students.

Explaining his use of the term, Rayer said he targeted the words only at three Umno leaders who attended a rally in Seberang Jaya in January, where banners blaming DAP for the May 13 racial riots were displayed, and not at the Malay Muslim community.

The group, while barging into the state legislature chambers in the full presence of the police and security guards, also damaged the gate to the state assembly and the Penang and Malaysian flag poles.

When met at the Northeast District police headquarters today, one of the 14, state Perkasa Youth chief Mohd Rizuad Azudin ( left ), said the group was prepared for the case.

"Since we were brave enough to do the act, we are brave enough to face the case," Rizuad said.

"But we feel it is not fair, since Bersih 3.0 activists were let off easily, and they did what was more severe," he added.

"We don't feel we had done anything very serious as we just entered the state assembly looking for Rayer during the House recess period."

In a statement issued later, Attorney-General Abdul Gani Patail said the total number of those to be charged is 16, including an individual is still at large.
