He started the ball rolling with a sarcastic twitter posting yesterday, where he noted that while the crisis in Terengganu was resolved in a week, the problem in Selangor has been dragging for a year.
“Terengganu MB crisis: diffused in under a week. Selangor MB crisis: one year and counting,” read his tweet, which drew mixed responses.
There were those who noted that unlike former Terengannu menteri besar Ahmad Said, Khalid did not quit and then re-join the party.
Twitter user Buragas Red Devils responded with a sarcastic swipe, “Terengganu crisis for daughter’s wedding. Hahahaha.”
Whereas Senathiraj MF Theva quipped: “Various Malaysian Crisis': 60 years and counting...”
Today, Khairy added another two postings on the issue, with one reading: “Yes, by all means deflect the issue and convince yourself MB Selangor is on firm political footing.”
In the other posting, the youth and sports minister included a Malaysian Reserve article, with the title "Selangor MB crisis casts cloud over water deals".
Based on the article, Khairy tweeted: “Why the Selangor MB crisis is not just an internal Pakatan matter. It affects you.”
The Umno Youth chief also commented on the crisis during a breaking fast event in Klang last night.
According to Bernama, he said the unresolved crisis symbolised the incapability of Pakatan to administer competently and the leadership infighting showed their administration was weak.
"It gives a clear picture that Pakatan is still unable to rule as the Selangor menteri besar crisis has protracted for more than a year.
"The present menteri besar does not have the support of his party's leaders causing water crisis and others, so what is the message they are trying to present to the people?" he added.
Khairy said the crisis over the post was a big slap to the top leadership of Pakatan as it was seen as incapable of assuring the people that they could select a menteri besar acceptable by many.
