YOURSAY 'When Khir Toyo was running wild, MCA never uttered a word.'

MCA: Anwar 'privatising' Selangor through his wife

Anonymous_40f4: Why is MCA worried about PKR's choice for Selangor MB? When the former MB Mohd Khir Toyo was running wild in Selangor, MCA never uttered a word.

Unlike BN MBs, Pakatan MBs are not corrupt or arrogant. PKR president Wan Azizah Wan Ismail will be the best MB that Selangor ever had.

Umno-BN are extremely worried about this, so they are putting roadblocks to prevent her from becoming MB.

CobbleStone: Selangor Wanita MCA chief Ong Chong Swen should be proud that a woman is going to be the MB of Selangor for the first time in Malaysian history.

Support her, instead of running her down. Maybe Ong should contemplate running for the presidency of MCA.

Quigonbond: This puppet critique is simply a stale accusation that has been long ignored and discarded by voters not just in Malaysia but elsewhere.

Did New Yorkers begrudge former US President Bill Clinton for making his wife Hillary Clinton his puppet when she was senator for New York? I think not.

Wan Azizah has helmed PKR since the days of Parti Keadilan when Anwar was in jail. If at all she is a puppet, it is more in a case where both husband and wife as a team think alike. And I don't see why not - that's a strength in any marriage which is to be celebrated.

Also, Pakatan parties are no rubber stamps, unlike BN parties - perhaps that's why Ong made the accusation, seeing from the lens of MCA, a rubber stamp for Umno.

Anonymous #18267907: When former Philippines president Benigno Aquino was assassinated, his 'housewife' spouse Corazon took the helm and became the best president that country had ever known, at least a non-corrupt one.

Anonymous #18267907: What's wrong with Wan Azizah becoming MB? She is after all president of PKR.

Recently, Gerakan chief Mah Siew Keong, who was elected in Teluk Intan, was given a minister's post because Prime Minister Najib Razak reiterated that Mah, as party president, deserved a post.

Too Lan: Look within BN, how many sons and brothers and cousins of the party leaders are hogging key posts and ministerships? Why say nothing? How about your former party president Chua Soi Lek's son getting a ministerial post?

What4: Pakatan didn't express fear when BN changed the MB of Terengganu. But BN and its branches, Perkasa and Isma, can't seem to sleep over Wan Azizah as Selangor MB.

Peach Blossom: Isn't it strange, Umno and company are not only scared of Anwar, but Kak Wan as well. What is this? Give that strong lady a chance, she can surprise us all.

Jacob George: Ong, this is utter rubbish and unfair. Our political views may differ, but based on my experience with Wan Azizah professionally and as a family friend, she is a very fine lady with unquestionable intelligence, gentle at heart, upholding distinction, integrity and decency - as a medical doctor, wife, mother, grandmother, colleague, friend that puts to shame others in mainstream politics and in power.

Malaccan: When MCA and Gerakan presidents recommend their men to be ministers and senators, did they make those positions their private assets? How did Anwar make the MB position his private assets?

We don't expect Ong to have towering intellect, but we expect some logic in what she says. Ong claims Pakatan is not made of equals because PKR has a greater say in Selangor. Did Ong forget when Gerakan ruled Penang with fewers seats than Umno?

Or is Ong saying Gerakan leads BN? It would be hilarious for MCA to claim equal partnership in BN. Eunuchs do not put themselves on the level of emperors, nor should they criticise others for standing level together.

Maybe Ong is jealous of what Wan Azizah as a woman can achieve in Pakatan? Ong is entitled to her personal opinion, like MCA Selangor state liaison committee deputy chairperson Donald Lim, who seems suddenly aware of Abdul Khalid Ibrahim's abilities with regard to water, dengue etc.

He shares his views in public when it doesn't count in MCA or BN. Ask him if new MBs in BN states come ready with MB experience? If not, why then expect it of Wan Azizah?

CQ Muar: Ong Chong Swen, so what if PKR has the final say despite having the least elected representatives compared to DAP and PAS, what's that got do with running dogs from MCA?

The 'Kajang Move' goes through a process of consensus within Pakatan, unlike MCA being perpetually led by the nose by Umno.

You sound envious and jealous that Wan Azizah will be replacing MB Khalid Ibrahim. No need to spew illogical issues to gain brownie points from PM Najib Razak, for which MCA is noted for.

RZC: Can Ong shut up about Selangor and its choice of menteri besar and comment instead on the likes of former chief justice Abdul Hamid Mohamad and his racial and seditious remarks?

Ong, being part of the seat of power, should also do something about such statements, especially given that they insult the race she represents.

Whatif: BN is scared of letting Anwar take up the MB post and stopped him by using the sodomy case.

Now, the party president who happens to be his wife has been nominated by the party for the MB’s post. What is wrong with that?
