Taking cue from the recent Democratic party primaries in the United States, I think Barisan Alternatif's negotiation process should be made similar to the American process, where BA supporters are allowed to choose their representatives among BA component parties.

The representative-based negotiation process is opaque and does not necessarily reflect the will of the people. If the representative wins the election, it also does not directly translate to people's support for the candidate, but is mixed with the peoples' sentiment to remove Barisan Nasional from power.

If we have the similar process as the Democratic party primaries, the person elected will reflect clearly both the majority support of the people to the individual and his/her policies.
