Former Selangor state executive council (exco) member Rodziah Ismail lodged a police report today against news portal Malaysia Gazett e for defaming her.
The report was lodged at the Shah Alam police headquarters this morning on the article titled ‘Rodziah lupa diri, tolak Khalid demi jawatan Ketua Wanita PKR’, published yesterday and written by Hamdan Othman.
Rodziah ( right ) said the article was “full of lies, malicious and defamatory”.
She demandedthat both Malaysia Gazette and Hamdan to write an apology to her and the apology must be published on the portal and all its social media sites, as well as in a mainstream newspaper, within 24 hours.
She said legal action would be taken against the portal and Hamdan should they fail to apologise to her.
Rodziah was the only exco member who resigned from her post after her DAP and PKR colleagues were sacked by Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.
The article yesterday claimed that Rodziah was promised the post of Wanita wing head in PKR, which is now held by Ampang MP Zuraida Kamaruddin.
Malaysia Gazette also claimed that Rodziah was promised that she would be re-appointed to the state executive council should PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail become the next menteri besar.
Meanwhile, Selangor PAS said it is leaving the fate of Hulu Kelang assemblyperson Saari Sungib and Morib assemblyperson Hasnul Baharuddin to the party’s central leadership.
Selangor PAS commissioner Iskandar Ab Samad ( left ) said: “The PAS central leadership asked for the report on the two to be made on the day itself and I have asked the Selangor PAS secretary to complete the report.”
Saari and Hasnul had on Aug 14 stated their support for Wan Azizah to replace Khalid as menteri besar.
PAS secretary-general Mustafa Ali said the next day that he had instructed Iskandar to submit the report on the matter.
