Rafizi: Don't be in PKR if you want to blame Anwar
PKR CONGRESS Those blaming PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim for the party's troubles should leave as they are "colluding" with PKR's political enemies, newly-elected vice-president Rafizi Ramli said today.
PKR CONGRESS Those blaming PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim for the party's troubles should leave as they are "colluding" with PKR's political enemies, newly-elected vice-president Rafizi Ramli said today.
The out-going party director of strategy launched a scathing criticism of the internal bickering, saying allegations of nepotism in the party's top leadership were coming from party members themselves.
"If you want to blame Anwar for everything, look for another party. That (behaviour) is like colluding with Umno and BN.
"Criticism is allowed, but let it be mannered," Rafizi said.
He said anybody who wants to accuse party leaders of nepotism should contest party polls against the top leaders.
'No regret being involved in Kajang Move'
"Do not accuse them of nepotism if they are democratically elected," he said.
Rafizi also said he did not regret being one of the main orchestrators of the 'Kajang Move' in February, which did not achieve desired results.
"Many people blamed me, I do not regret it one bit. People have used harsh words on me and plenty of lies were spread about me, but in a party like this, we can't compromise our values, even if the compromise is the size of a bacteria," he said.
He said the past eight months had been "uncertain" for PKR, but the party has shown resolve to stick by its decisions even if its not a popular decision.
"It tests our strength in making difficult decisions," he said.
Rafizi also urged Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim ( right ) not to dissolve the state assembly if he had any "integrity left".
"I want to tell him, preserve the little integrity you have left. Respect the choice of the people. Don't dare sabotage the people's wishes by dissolving the state assembly," he added.
