New exco lacks 'Pakatan spirit', gripes Halimah
The new Selangor state executive council line-up has not been done according to the "Pakatan spirit", claims PAS Selat Klang assemblyperson Halimah Ali.
The new Selangor state executive council line-up has not been done according to the "Pakatan spirit", claims PAS Selat Klang assemblyperson Halimah Ali.
"Well, that means the names (in the line-up)... Pakatan's spirit is not there, that's the understanding," said the former state exco member, who has been dropped from Mentri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali's new exco list.
Asked about the new exco list her initial response was, "What else can I comment?
"Good luck. Do your job," she said.
Halimah ( right ), who was attending a briefing on the construction of Klang's third bridge, did not want to elaborate on what she felt was the problem with the new line-up in terms of the spirit of the coalition.
Met at the Selangor State Secretariat building later, Azmin brushed off Halimah's remarks saying PAS leaders have agreed to the new line-up.
"I personally communicated with PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang, deputy president Mohamad Sabu and secretary-general Mustafa Ali, and they had agreed," he said.
Azmin also said he will also discuss with Pakatan partners on any need to reform the state constitution to avoid another crisis over the post of menteri besar, as suggested by his party colleague.
PKR Alor Star MP Gooi Hsiao Leung earlier this week urged the new menteri besar to make " constitutional reform " one of the important issues in his list of issues to tackle.
Gooi, who is also a PKR supreme council member, said the Selangor constitution should be better defined on the role of constitutional monarchy in order to avoid the "confusion" that reigned during the protracted Selangor menteri besar crisis.
Selangor civil movement Kembalikan Selangorku echoed Gooi's sentiments in calling for constitutional and democratic principles to be clarified in the state constitution.
