Tumpat MP Kamarudin Jaadar said the state of Kelantan is proof how the Barisan Nasional government neglects those who do not support it.

“The Kelantanese do not vote for BN that is why the Prime Minister (Najib Abdul Razak) does not provide any allocation to Kelantan,” he said in a press conference in Parliament today.

“I think this should be stressed, about not providing welfare to the rakyat who do not support BN, whether they are Chinese or otherwise.”

Kamarudin was referring to the speech made by Najib at the MCA annual general meeting yesterday.

Najib had said that the Chinese community should not make demands of the government if it then goes on to support the opposition.

Kamaruddin said no “huge and meaningful” projects were given by the prime minister to the people of Kelantan, except the upgrading project of the Gua Musang-Tumpat railway which costs RM150 million.

He also questioned the silence on any highway or infrastructure upgrading in Kelantan during the Budget announcement last week.

"The prime minister did not give any meaningful projects for Kelantan although Kelantanese minister Mustapa Mohamed had promised the ugrading of the Pengkalan Chepa airport as well as the Kota Baru-Kuala Krai highway," he said.
