Najib told the Umno General Assembly last week that the Act will not only be maintained but fortified.
"Instead of a mea culpa by publicly apologising and expressing its willingness to be punished severely by the voters at the next general elections for lying and being dishonourable, both parties have not shown any remorse whatsoever," DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said.
"Instead, both parties have behaved arrogantly, by whitewashing the breaking of the prime minister’s thrice-repeated promise as necessary, and that they will support the retention of the Sedition Act and making it even harsher."
MCA is also distracting voters by asking the DAP why it has not questioned PAS’ desire on implementing the hudud law, when DAP has repeatedly done so, he said in a statement.

The CM was also " dead silent " when PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang refused to comply to DAP central committee’s call for Hadi to attend Pakatan Rakyat meetings, Teng reportedly told the New Straits Times .
Responding, Lim said that DAP had consistently opposed the implementation of the hudud.
This is unlike MCA and Gerakan who did not dare to oppose the formation of the Umno-backed technical committee with PAS to study the implementation of the Islamic law, he said.
"Why is both MCA and Gerakan only oppose PAS implementing hudud but not by Umno?" Lim asked.
DAP also shows it keeps promises by insisting that Sekinchan assemblyperson Ng Suee Lim (left) for the Selangor assembly deputy speaker post instead of a PAS candidate, he said.
He questioned if MCA and Gerakan MPs would be bold enough to vote against amendments to strengthen the Sedition Act in Parliament, like how DAP voted against the PAS deputy speaker.
'Diesel hike makes no sense'
The three-sen rise of diesel retail prices to RM2.23 also shows the BN government’s failure to fulfill promises, he said.
The government needs to explain why diesel prices went up when RON95 petrol prices are coming down, consistent with global crude oil price, he said.
"It does not make sense because it comes from the same source as RON95. Nowadays, the federal government does many things that do not make sense."
Retail prices of RON97 is at RM2.46 per litre, RON95 at RM2.26 per litre while diesel is at RM2.23 per litre.
The managed float system will be implemented today can ensure that people enjoyed the drop in world crude oil, the government said.
