It is expected that Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak will say that the RM2.6 billion donation he received is not corruption, said a BN leader.

"Of course the prime minister will say it's not corruption. If he said that, it is game over," said BN strategic communications director Abdul Rahman Dahlan.

He added that BN was confident that the donation is not a bribe.

Najib has claimed that the MACC had cleared him of corruption.

However, the MACC has only said that the donation is not linked to 1MDB, and is still investigating it and plans to question Najib. Speaking at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur today, Rahman said he would leave the discrepancy to the MACC to sort out.

He said investigations into 1MDB could have been resolved quickly if it were not for politicking.

"If its just about finding out the truth […] it is a very straightforward investigation that can be solved very quickly.

"(But) I understand there is a power play, I was not born yesterday […] that is what makes it difficult to find out the truth," he said.

Fact-checking website needed

Rahman ( photo ) also refuted former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad's assertion that the Arabs were not so generous and cited Saudi prince Alwaleed Talal who is donating his US$32 billion fortune to philanthropic causes.

Earlier in his speech at the pre-launch of the Malaysian Day Ride cycling event ,  Rahman mooted the idea of a fact-checking website where the public can verify what they read in relation to government information.

"In the US for example, when someone says something, they can check it and point out that five years ago that person said something else," he said.
