Bersih has challenged Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak to reveal details on the RM2.6 billion donation he received, when the electoral reform group reveals its accounts this month.

"Yes... It is his personal accounts, he should be able to reveal it easily," Bersih chairperson Maria Chin Abdullah told reporters in Kuala Lumpur today.

She also rubbished allegations that Bersih refused to reveal its accounts.

"We have already said, in August, that after the rally, we will reveal the accounts to the public.

"We will reveal it this month, and get it audited as soon as possible, but the audit will take a bit longer," she added.

Najib yesterday accused Bersih of being hypocritical for asking him to reveal his accounts when the electoral reform movement does not want to disclose its accounts.

Besides asking Najib to reveal details about the US$700 million donation, Maria said the premier must also address the 1MDB scandal and also bring about democratic reforms.

The prime minister yesterday asked for six months to deal with 1MDB's debts, a line he first used in early August.

However, Najib said on Aug 9 that he only had five months left, meaning there are now only four more months for him to solve the sovereign wealth fund's woes.
