An eight-year-old girl was killed in a landslide triggered by heavy rains that also caused traffic chaos in Kuala Lumpur and surrounding areas, police said today.
The girl, Haseenah Azman, was sleeping when a landslide crashed down on her home after a three-hour downpour late Friday, a police spokesman told AFP.
2-hour search
Rescuers found her body after a two-hour search, he said.
The downpour also caused flash floods in several parts of the Klang Valley, which includes the capital, that turned roads into waterways and caused widespread traffic snarls during the Friday evening rush hour. - AFP
