The Home Ministry has been urged to explain what progress has been made regarding the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission's police report denying that there is a draft charge sheet against Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

Gobind Singh Deo (DAP-Puchong) said this could have easily been used to dismiss a statutory declaration by Charles Morais claiming that his slain brother Kevin had left his signature on the charge sheet.

"One would have thought that when Charles made the allegations, police could have immediately say 'the MACC had made a police report on Aug 30, we have investigated and these are our findings'.

"But there has been no answer [...] It's not enough if we make a police report and then there's no answer, just silence," Gobind told the House today.

The charge sheet was allegedly prepared while Abdul Gani Patail was still the attorney-general, and a photo of it was leaked on whistleblower site Sarawak Report .

However its authenticity has been dismissed not just by the MACC, but also by Gani's successor Mohamed Apandi Ali.

"If the charge sheet is true, can Pekan (Najib Abdul Razak) still hold the post of prime minister?" Gobind asked while debating the Home Ministry's budget.

Open feud

Wan Mohammad Khair-il Anuar Wan Ahmad (BN-Kuala Kangsar) interjected, and suggested that the focus not be on MACC's police report, but rather on the open feud between two of Kevin's younger brothers, Charles and Richard.

Gobind however rubbished this notion as an attempt to distract from what's really important.

"Kuala Kangsar is focusing on the family problem. You go and talk to them and sort out the family problem.

"What I want to ask, what is important, is whether or not the charge sheet exists," Gobind said.

In his expose, Charles claimed to have been given a pendrive containing information from his Kevin which implicated individuals in power and he (Charles) has arranged for it to be revealed if anything should befall him.

In the SD, he claimed Kevin had confided in him that he was working on a case involving Najib and his wife Rosmah Mansor.

He also alleged that Kevin's signature was on a draft charge sheet against Najib for corruption.

Kevin's youngest brother Richard however dismissed the claims, and accused Charles of tarnishing Kevin and Najib's reputation .
