PAS will organise a nationwide roadshow to bring president Abdul Hadi Awang to meet with its grassroots and explain recent developments and issues concerning the party.

The PAS information bureau has been tasked with organising the special briefing session.

According to information chief Nasruddin Hassan, this will be a standard operating procedure for the party in addition to conventions, muktamar, monthly meetings and others to give guidance and explanation to party leaders and members on major issues.

Nasruddin said that this will follow a central level special briefing session by Hadi which will be held this Saturday.

"Allah willing, the information bureau will tour the entire country to provide guidance, as well as deliver the message and explanation by the president to all the states after this," he said in a statement.

He reminded PAS members not to believe the various perceptions spread by certain parties on current issues and always refer to the party leadership in the upcoming briefings for the real picture.

Prior to this, the media has reported that the Islamic party will be holding a special briefing session to explain its supposed cooperation with Umno, though no mention was made on when and where it was slated to be.

The party, however, stressed that its cooperation with Umno, which is based on working for the benefit of Islam, does not mean that it will join the BN ruling coalition.

The declaration was made by the party's syura council last Saturday in the midst of speculations that PAS and Umno are tying the knot politically.

"The syura council stressed that PAS will not join BN," said council secretary Nik Mohd Zawawi Salleh.

Hadi himself has said that PAS is merely “advising” Umno, which dominated the ruling coalition, to reform its wayward ways and correct problems with its rule.
