DAP lawmaker Teo Nie Ching is the latest in the growing list of opposition politicians who have been barred from entering Sarawak, ahead of the state polls.

This was according to DAP's Rasah parliamentarian Teo Kok Seong, who took the same flight from Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 5.10pm with the Kulai MP.

"We arrived at Bintulu by 7.30pm and she was sent back on the next flight to Kuala Lumpur by 7.50pm," he told Malaysiakini .

"She sat two rows in front of me and checked out first. I went out later and texted her by 7.45pm, asking where she was.

"She replied, saying 'I am at the immigration office'," he added.

However, even after Kok Seong cleared immigration, Nie Ching was nowhere to be seen.

Subsequently, Kok Seong, together with DAP's Kidurong state assemblyperson Chiew Chin Sing who was there to fetch them, went back to ask immigration officers about what had happened to Nie Ching.

"Immigration said that Nie Ching was on the blacklist and they were only acting according to the list," said Kok Seong.

They were among the first batch of DAP leaders to arrive in Bintulu for a fundraising dinner tomorrow ahead of the Sarawak state election.

Sarawak Chief Minister Adenan Satem had announced that the state assembly will be dissolved on April 11, paving way for polls.

Kok Seong slammed Adenan for professing openness but barring opposition MPs from the state who are merely there to campaign for the election.

He challenged Adenan to release the full list of blacklisted opposition MPs as many are now flying to Sarawak without knowing if they will be deported upon arrival.
