Police have confirmed that the video clip showing a student being beaten by a warden at a vocational school in Sungai Buloh, which went viral on social media yesterday, was authentic.

Selangor Police deputy chief Abd Rahim Jaafar said police were investigating the case and urged the public not to speculate on the matter.

"Police have received a report on the case from the 16-year-old student involved at 10.25am yesterday. He lodged the report at the Sungai Buloh district police headquarters," he said in a statement in Kuala Lumpur today.

Abd Rahim said initial investigations found that the incident occurred at 5.30pm last Thursday at the Sungai Buloh Vocational College hostel and the video clip, which lasted one minute and 10 seconds, went viral on the social media yesterday afternoon.
