PAS will review its position in the Selangor state government during the party's annual general assembly or muktamar in April, said its information chief Nasrudin Hassan.

Besides discussing political cooperation with PKR, he said PAS would also decide on whether it should remain in the state government.

According to him, the motion to review the political cooperation with PKR and to continue being part of the Selangor administration was raised by the Dewan Muslimat (women's wing) in the previous assembly.

"There is no problem for us to conduct a review.

“If it is good for us, then we continue. The medium for us to review is our muktamar," he told a press conference in Kuala Lumpur.

PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang had previously said the party would discuss the "tahaluf siyasi" (political cooperation) with PKR in the annual assembly, which would be held in Alor Setar from April 29 to May 1.

As of now, PAS have three assemblypersons in the Selangor state executive council, namely Ahmad Yunus Hairi (Islamic Affairs, Malay Customs, Rural Development and Village Traditions), Iskandar Abdul Samad (Housing, Buliding Management & Urban Living) and Zaidy Abdul Talib (Infrastructure, Public Amenities and Agro-Based industry).

Despite calls for its representatives to leave the state government after it did so in DAP-led Penang after the Pakatan Rakyat breakup, PAS had previously maintained that it must continue to represent the mandate that the people gave the now defunct coalition as part of the elected government of Selangor.
