KS Nallakarupan is not interested in party posts. According to the 61-year-old businessman, he has returned to active politics to help his friend, Anwar Ibrahim, and the opposition Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR).

How did you get started in politics?

V David (founder) of (Social Justice Party of Malaysia) Pekemas used to take me around with him for his campaigns in the 1970s. Then, I was with Gerakan for some time. Around the early 1980s, I decided to join (current MIC president) S Samy Vellu. I was a member and branch chairman in Bukit Bandaraya in Bangsar.
