Indian-based parties MIC and MIUP are involved in talks for a possible merger for the sake of the community, it is reliably learnt.

Sources close to the talks told Malaysiakini that the both the parties are keen to forge a merger so that they can consolidate their efforts and resources in regaining the support of the Indian community.
