In response to the devastating floods affecting Sabah and Sarawak, Allianz Malaysia Berhad (Allianz Malaysia) has partnered with the Malaysia International Search and Rescue (MISAR) to mobilise critical relief efforts, ensuring timely aid reaches affected communities.

MISAR began its relief operations in late January, providing essential aid to flood victims in Kota Marudu, Pitas, and Beaufort in Sabah. Known for its swift emergency response capabilities, MISAR has played a crucial role in delivering much-needed supplies and assistance to those impacted.

Building on these efforts, MISAR expanded its operations to Sarawak in early February, focusing on affected communities in Selangau, Mukah, and Bintulu to ensure timely aid.

“Allianz Malaysia stands in solidarity with the flood victims in East Malaysia. We recognise the urgency of the situation and are dedicated to supporting relief efforts that bring immediate help to those in need,” Head of Allianz4Good, Ng Siew Gek said.

MISAR Founder and President Captain K. Balasupramaniam said, “Flood disasters require swift and coordinated action, and MISAR is committed to being on the front lines when communities need us the most. Our partnership with Allianz Malaysia has enabled us to expand our relief efforts and provide timely aid to those struggling in the aftermath of these devastating floods. We will continue working tirelessly to ensure essential supplies and support reach the affected families as they rebuild their lives.”

Since October 2024, MISAR has been actively responding to flood disasters across multiple states, including Terengganu, Kelantan, Pahang, Negeri Sembilan, and Melaka. Their efforts have encompassed purchasing and packing relief items, deploying specialised response teams to affected locations, and distributing essential supplies such as dry food, hygiene products, pillows, towels, and diapers.

This initiative is part of Allianz Malaysia’s ongoing commitment to disaster relief and community support, reaffirming its role as a responsible corporate citizen dedicated to helping Malaysians in times of crisis.
