GLC Industry Players liven up the National Day parade in Putrajaya

With two days left for the upcoming National Day, many Malaysians are definitely excited to see the preparations for the celebration parade at Dataran Putrajaya.

With the theme Malaysia MADANI: Tekad Perpaduan, Penuhi Harapan (Determination in Unity, Fulfilling Hope), 9 contingent components with a total involvement of 67 contingents will participate in the parade on 31 August. Among the 9 components involved are Nationhood; Malaysia MADANI; Economics; Banking; Telecommunications; Creative and Broadcasting Industries; National Sports; Welfare and National Security.

GLC is the catalyst of the country's economy

Various industry players from the economic contingent such as government-linked companies (GLCs) and government-linked investment companies (GLICs) would be taking part in the parade.

Among the GLC coalitions that would be participating are Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), UEM Group, Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB), Sime Darby Plantation Berhad, Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad (MRCB), YTL Group dan Persatuan Syarikat Penghantaran Ekspress Malaysia (AMEC).

In Malaysia, both GLC and GLIC are important to ensure that economic development can be implemented in an orderly manner.

Upcoming events for the public to watch

Among the interesting events at the 2023 National Day Celebration are a special Malaysia Madani performance featuring famous local artists and a special Madani drum performance.

Other highlights are a precise parachute jumping performance by VAT 69 commandos from the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM); a cosplay parade and various mascots of famous characters; a parade of 30 vintage cars carrying 30 people from various races in Malaysia; and a parade of 30 horses from the PDRM Cavalry Unit.

"The public can look forward to a spectacular aerial display featuring security forces helicopters and acrobatic stunts of 15 vintage motorcycles called Wira Merah' by the Malaysian Armed Forces.

More than 100,000 visitors are expected to attend the Independence Day celebration this time in Putrajaya. The public are advised to use the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) and Express Rail Link (ERL) to attend the celebration.

Putrajaya was previously the location of National Day celebrations in 2003, 2005, 2018 and 2019.
