Webgeaz Strides Forward with SME 100 Award Win
In Malaysia, software design, development, and maintenance play a crucial role in supporting the country’s digital transformation across both public and private sectors. Software design involves planning the structure, features, and user experience of a system to ensure it aligns with business needs and regulatory requirements.
As one of the emerging players in Malaysia’s tech landscape, Webgeaz Sdn Bhd exemplifies the innovation and quality that define the local industry. With strong government support, a skilled workforce, and rising demand from SMEs and enterprises, the company continues to grow as a competitive hub for high-quality software solutions, deploying customised applications using modern tools and frameworks tailored to clients’ unique needs.
Webgeaz in Malaysia’s Tech Sector

Khalid Ibrahim, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Webgeaz Sdn Bhd, stands out as a key figure driving digital transformation.
Since its establishment in 2013, Webgeaz has steadily positioned itself as a forward-thinking player in Malaysia’s IT landscape. Founded with the aim of driving innovation and setting new standards in technology, the company has built its foundation on delivering solutions that go beyond industry expectations. The company’s journey is both personal and purposeful.
"Webgeaz was first founded by my father. It all started when we were working on a software that could support the delivery of enterprise systems more efficiently for other projects." he shared, reflecting on Webgeaz’s early days.
Webgeaz first gained attention with the launch of SUFIA (Single Unified Framework for Internet Application), a proprietary platform emphasising flexibility, security, and high performance. This early innovation laid the groundwork for the company’s growing reputation in the tech industry.
What began as a vision shared by four founders has grown into a dedicated team of 20 professionals, all working to push the boundaries of what technology can achieve. Embracing the belief that the integration of human insight with technical expertise leads to long-term success, Webgeaz has continually expanded its offerings. Its portfolio also includes the manufacture and supply of computer equipment, software, operating systems, and databases.
Additionally, Webgeaz has begun collaborating with local universities to share its Framework, providing opportunities for young developers to launch their own products — and even their own businesses. For other companies, it presents an opportunity to adopt the Framework and leverage better technologies and techniques to enhance customer satisfaction in their deliveries. Webgeaz also offers workshops on their Framework to help developers deepen their understanding and skills.
Webgeaz remains committed to delivering impactful technology solutions that empower businesses and drive digital progress across Malaysia.
Vision for Sustainable Leadership
Khalid firmly believes that sustainable growth begins with internal development by nurturing talent, strengthening team dynamics, and building a solid foundation of values and culture within the organisation. A long-term success is not just about external achievements, but also about creating an environment where people can thrive, innovate, and grow together.
“A company can only grow as fast as its leadership. That means I have to keep evolving—improving my strategic thinking, people management, and decision-making abilities. And the same applies to our team.”
“As a tech company, our greatest value lies in the technology we create. We must continuously innovate and stay ahead of trends. Stagnation is not an option in this industry,” he noted.
Khalid advocates for a collaborative approach in today’s business landscape, recognising that the tech industry thrives when companies leverage each other’s strengths. Rather than viewing others as competitors, he believes in fostering strategic partnerships that can create larger, more impactful outcomes for the industry as a whole. This mindset shift reflects Webgeaz’s broader philosophy of collective growth and innovation.
“We run structured development programs to upskill our people—not just in tech, but in leadership and innovation. The goal is to cultivate a team that’s always ready for the next challenge.”
As Webgeaz continues to expand its footprint in Malaysia’s software and enterprise solutions space, Khalid's leadership philosophy remains clear: continuous learning, technological advancement, and building a strong, forward-thinking team.
SME100 Award Impact

Winning the prestigious SME100 Fast Moving Companies Award has marked a significant milestone for Webgeaz, Khalid admits the company has yet to fully explore the award’s potential in unlocking new business opportunities; he acknowledges its strong influence on brand exposure and credibility.
“Most of our business still comes from existing clients and referrals, but this award has definitely boosted our visibility,” he said.
The SME100 Award has become a game-changer for Webgeaz, strengthening its credibility and influence across the tech landscape. The recognition not only validates the company’s excellence but also acts as a mark of trust for new clients and collaborators.
With this accolade in hand, Webgeaz is better positioned to forge new partnerships, expand its market reach, and continue its upward momentum as a reliable and innovative tech provider in Malaysia.
Advice to SMEs
Speaking from experience, Khalid humbly shares that while he may not feel like the ultimate authority to offer advice, his journey has revealed essential truths often overlooked in business circles.
“Before I handled the business, I only saw the outcomes—never the sleepless nights or the emotional toll behind them.”
To stay grounded, Khalid immersed himself in books on leadership and business strategy, only to discover that the most consistent advice wasn’t about profits or growth hacks—it was about emotional resilience, empathy, perseverance, and building strong relationships.
“When you give more—time, effort, support—you gain more in the long run. But it takes time, and often, you must sacrifice before you see results.”
He further encourages business owners to remain rooted in their vision, reminding them that ideas are powerful, but only when backed by strong, persistent leaders. His parting message is clear: be the one who sacrifices, who leads with intention, and who never stops believing in the value you bring. In doing so, success is not just possible—it’s inevitable.
