Many, if not the majority of Malaysians, seem in two minds about openly celebrating this Malaysia Day, and no wonder. They’re justly concerned that the BN regime will misrepresent any sincere shows of love for the true Malaysia as signs of support for its fraudulent 1Malaysia.

Or, in other words, Un-Malaysia. Such an ugly version, or rather perversion, of most Malaysians’ images of and visions for their beloved nation that they find it an abomination.

An abomination hell-bent on and inevitably headed for its own damnation, as those of us who dream of a resurgence of the true Malaysia fondly hope. But meanwhile, fresh from bullying, buying and bribing itself to ‘victory’ in yet another fake election, the BN 1Malaysia regime is back in business with a vengeance.

1Malaysia Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak seems to have recovered sufficiently from his humiliating failure to win back the state of Selangor or achieve anything like the two-thirds majority he had his heart set on to resume his career as a sloganeer.

So enthusiastically so that these days, I gather, he’s progressed from his pathetically empty and patently false promises of ‘People first. Performance now’ and ‘transformation of the nation’ to the even more ludicrously far-fetched and fatuous and utterly empty extreme of ‘endless possibilities’.

Endless possibilities for himself, his accomplices and cronies in 1Malaysia, I suppose he means, as having apparently absolved himself of utterly failing to honour so much as a single word of his so-called Election Integrity Pledge, he’s now busy overseeing the forgiveness of fellow guilty parties.

azlan For example, now that she’s no longer an electoral liability, he appears to be supporting the comeback of Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, the minister he grudgingly stood down following public outcry at her family’s involvement in the RM250 million National Feedlot Corporation (NFC) scandal.

Though there is no apparent sign that the aforesaid RM250 million is, or ever will be, making a comeback into the treasury where it rightly belongs.

Also mysteriously freed of any guilt or penalty are the suspects, scapegoats or whatever they were on death row for the murder of Altantuya Shaariibuu, having been completely acquitted by the 1Malaysia Court of Appeal rather than being properly required to face a re-trial that might possibly have revealed the whole truth about the murder and who ordered and facilitated it.

azlan Also deemed completely innocent of any wrongdoing, of course, are the 1Malaysia police, who besides acting as security guards for their political masters, and routinely killing ‘suspects’ in the process, are complicit in the current crusade headed by 1Malaysia Home Minister Zahid Hamidi to use a spate of suspicious shootings to justify restoration of the Emergency Ordinance (EO) and the Internal Security Act (ISA).

When of course the actual purpose of these draconian ordinances by 1Malaysia is not the fighting of crime, organised or otherwise, but to facilitate the organisation of crime by corrupt elements of the police themselves, and to persecute politicians and supporters of the true Malaysia.

1Malaysia stealing Malaysia Day

So it stands to the same kind of twisted self-interested reason, I suppose, that having systematically robbed the real Malaysia of justice and all its other democratic institutions including free and impartial print and air news media and free and fair elections, 1Malaysia sees fit to steal Malaysia Day for itself.

Starting with the proposal by Communications and Multimedia Minister Ahmad Shabery Cheek at a so-called ‘Pocket Show’ in KL that a law be introduced to force private as well as government organisations to fly the Jalur Gemilang to “show their love for the nation.”

No prizes for guessing which nation he had in mind, the Malaysian nation or the 1Malaysia abomination, or whose pockets he had in mind for the proceeds of producing and distributing this flood of Jalur Gemilangs.

NONE And no prizes, either, for guessing whether it’s in the interests of the real Malaysia or the fraudulent 1Malaysia for the mass-exhibition of the propaganda movie Tanda Putera , or as I prefer to think of it, Tandas Putera , to coincide with and confuse the nature of Malaysia Day.

This blatant exercise in historical revisionism, complete with its now-notorious and entirely fictional scene showing Chinese youths urinating on a flagpole flying the Jalur Gemilang is a piece of pure, unadulterated 1Malaysia propaganda paid for with genuine Malaysians’ money.

In fact this cinematic atrocity is so far from view of the events of May 13, 1969 that it purports to portray, and so propagandist on behalf of 1Malaysia that the 1Malaysia National Film Corporation (Finas) has declared that screening of the thing as compulsory in the biggest hall of every cinema in the country for 14 consecutive days.

And the director of Tanda(s) Putera recently had the 1Malaysia-style arrogance to threaten cinemas with loss of their licences if refuse to comply, ludicrously claiming that they were endangering “creative freedom”.

At the same time, Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin, flying in the face of his recently-expressed pious wish that Malaysian government policies were “evidence-based”, not political, slammed opponents of the showing of the 1Malaysia propaganda movie, claiming that “such a historical film should be viewed as it tells the story of fellow statesmen who rescued the nation.”

Thus further highlighting the long-evident fact that, far from flying the flag for truth and transparency, let alone historical accuracy, 1Malaysia is forever creatively lying and applying the gag to silence its critics and cover-up its crimes.

NONE Far from flying the flag for racial and religious unity, as it so piously pretends, 1Malaysia strives to perpetuate BN rule by promoting sectarian difference, dissent and discord.

And far from flying the flag in a sincere spirit of patriotism, it strives with every means at its disposal to make Malaysia Day look like popular display of putriotism for its putrid 1Malaysia.

Thus to all those true Malaysians who choose to celebrate the occasion, whether by publicly hoisting the Jalur Gemilang or privately in their own hearts and homes, I wish Selamat Hari Malaysia . And as for the members, accomplices and supporters of the lying, thieving, fraudulent 1Malaysia, all I can say is that I fondly hope that their days are well and truly numbered.
