
Villagers cry foul over 'wild celebration'

A group of villagers say a joint venture between a local firm and a state government agency is using devious means to get back at them after they filed a suit against it for land encroachment.
‘I cannot do everything all by myself. I need support. I cannot just go to Abdullah, catch him by the scruff of his neck and throw him out,’ said the ex-premier.
The human resources minister today quelled fears the government had backtracked on an earlier promise to grant three-year work permits to temple priests, musicians and sculptors.
M Puravelan, who has successfully challenged DNA evidence in court, said the consequences are grave for any accidental or deliberate contamination of such evidence.
