MCA's EGM debacle

True to speculations, MCA vice-president Liow Tiong Lai's faction announced the cancellation of the EGM scheduled for Nov 28, purportedly to pave way for fresh elections.

According to Malaysiakini reports, there were smiling faces all round, in stark contrast to the weeping drama on Nov 18. There were no pro-Chua or pro-Ong leaders present at the press conference, giving rise to the belief that it is just a face-saving mechanism carefully crafted by the pro-Liow faction to avoid the EGM from being aborted due to insufficient quorum.

Bogus Astro technicians on the loose

I was having problems with my Astro services and called Astro customer service. They told me their technician would call me back, and gave the report number.

They said the Astro technician would call me back and that it was essential that he quote the report number before making an appointment with me, as verification.

The truth about BTN

Since Biro Tatanegara has been a hot issue of late, I will share my own experiences. I have gone to two BTN courses under PNB and Mara. To be honest, I have mixed feelings about it.

The food at BTN is amazing. They may be simple Malaysian dishes like 'ikan kembung goreng' or 'sayur campur' but somehow even the steamed rice has some magic in it.
