Reading the arguments thus far regarding climate change, there are many insightful thoughts and concerns for the earth.

In my view, I would prefer to keep global warming in view, but not as a fact, until there is indisputable evidence or deduction through observations. Most conclusions to date are mainly inference from the current data scientists collect and regard as highly plausible.

The matter of the fact is, there are possible unknown mechanisms which Mother Nature would ‘switch on' to return earth to its normal environment.

To illustrate this, I would take the human body as an example. When we consume carbohydrates, our blood sugar level will rise and is unfavourable to our body. This will activate a secretion of insulin to promote an uptake of glucose by cells to be stored as glycogen or metabolised glucose for energy. Thus reducing to optimal the blood sugar level.

Of course, an excessive intake of sugar will cause this mechanism to break down eventually, and hence one of a cause of diabetes. Nonetheless, I am just illustrating a possible mechanism that is activated to handle a situation when it reaches an intolerable level.

My take on the matter would be to integrate earth-friendly habits into daily life, not so much for fear that the earth will end on our descendants, but more so to recognise that we are the stewards for this God-given earth.

Just as we seek to be good stewards of our boss' resources to generate income, we ought to be good stewards with what we are blessed with (since it is not by our own hands that trees and mountains and seas came into existence) whether or not one believes in God.

One may take an extreme stand in that we completely be stripped of all technologies and return back in time. While the other extreme is to lay waste to the earth.

I believe we ought to strike a balance based on the above principle as good stewards. And that is while generating advancement and uplifting the standard of living, we do not forsake (different from consuming) the natural resources that enable us to achieve the former.

Let the consequences of irresponsible stewardship be discovered by scientists and allow them to continue to study the matter.

We ought not to wait for solid conclusions of the study before we start going green. We should always be good stewards from the day we were born for this beautiful earth and pass on this lifestyle to our descendants. Let's move from Earth Hour to Earth Lifestyle.
