A whole new dimension for 'technical offence'

I refer to the Malaysiakini report PM: Isa's offence a technical matter .

Well, there is a new dimension as far as a ‘technical’ criteria is concerned as expounded by the prime minister. Anything that is wrong can be camouflaged by the term ‘technical error’.

Can the MCA and the Chinese accept Chua Soi Lek's misconduct as a ‘technical matter’? After all, he did it with only an old friend and he has paid for his deeds by resigning (many Malaysians have expressed their disdain for Chua Soi Lek to be a leader again).

Can we appoint the chief Ah Longs, Mona Fendis, Cina Tengkus, the big ‘tai ko’ in town (some of them ‘Datuks’) as ministers in our country? Why not, by the standard the PM has proclaimed.

After all they have either paid their dues or they are big businessmen (very rich and successful too) and they have not been charged before our judiciary before,.well maybe some have been.

Our PM said ‘even our criminals are given second chances’. Nobody is against criminals who are seeking second chances in life for a living but to be a leader of the people? What standards and quality of role models are we setting for the younger generation?

Again, it appears that the PM has defined two standards of corruption for Malaysia, one standard is for within Umno and the other is for the rakyat.

Corruption (as proven and penalised) inside and within Umno is accepted but corruption amongst the rakyat or outside Umno is not tolerated as that is ‘real’ corruption.

Corruption within Umno is only ‘technical corruption’ and can be and should be accepted by the rakyat. After all, the disciplinary panel in Umno has no public standard and value. It is an internal matter and does not involve the judiciary.

This is a fact and it is very true for Umno and BN. This is the standard of measurement they use and the Malaysian public should understand and accept it. One standard for Umno and BN and one standard for the general rakyat.

The next thing the PM will say when a new opportunity arises is to explain that in the Malaysian system of government, we have worked on a two-tiered system for the last 50 over years - one tier is for Umno and BN and the other tier is for the rakyat.

This is a very simple concept that all Malaysians will understand and accept, for after all they are stupid people and they dare not protest because of the ISA (no pun intended) and our police force is 100 percent working for the government of Umno and BN. Are we stupid?
