The letter writer made sweeping statements in MCAs house still a good shelter (Feb 26). It appears he is barking up the wrong tree when he refers to Lim Ah Lek as a self-serving politician while implying that he himself is matured and part of the majority team in the party.

MCAs house may be more than 50 years old but the more pertinent question is how good is the head of the family? Can we trust Dr Ling Liong Sik to lead us in the right direction to a good future?

It is obvious that the house is in need of a more trustworthy head. Look at the new membership list which is so heavily padded by non-existent members, its a joke. If they claim to have the majority, why the padding?

Now the MCA administration is even trying to justify their folly by saying that there is no such thing as a "clean" membership list and even the election commission cannot ensure that. Is the new membership list so ridiculously rotten that cleaning up is impossible?

The twisting and stretching of the MCA constitution by self-serving politicians is making a mockery of the whole situation and should not be condoned. It may be argued that events unfolding in MCA is within the parameters of the constitution but this is akin to saying that a dog is equal to a cat because both animals have four legs each. This is parameter thinking. But you and I know that it is wrong.

If a team claims to have the majority, why the need to pad its list with so many phantom members?
