Tai Lo Chin's ( Can politicians articulate something relevant, insightful?

) views reflect those of many Malaysians who feel that the current generation of state leaders offer the following qualities: lacking in leadership, lacking in statesmanship, shooting from the hips, and often putting their feet in their mouths.

I won't give any more examples as Tai has amply mentioned in his letter. They behave and talk more like imperial warlords than civil servants, instead of exhibiting more caring and sharing values in their policies. Thoughtless and tactless in their 'ad hoc' policies, peoples are not consulted as though they are in rush to prove their performances with many political ambitions in mind.

We should ask ourselves whether they have the Vision 2020 in mind or are instead desperately aiming to be a candidate at the next general election. The hardship, inconvenience and sufferings of people directly affected by their foolish policy decisions seem to be furthest from their agenda.

If these are the types of leaders who are going to lead us and the nation, I dread to think of the future and destiny of our peoples.
