I must congratulate Jaycee for the audacity to suggest MCA quit BN and let Umno fight its own battle. In the letter, Jaycee made this remarkable statement which I believe will stir the imaginations of many a Chinese, to review their relationship with Umno in view of the uncalled for interference of Umno leadership into MCA's own organisational issues.

Umno's continued interference will only expose MCA's own weakness - the inability to solve its own problems - giving the impression that it is only an appendage dancing to the tune of Umno.

Any ruling coalition, even if responsible for the struggle for independence, cannot take for granted that it will enjoy the support of the suffrage forever.

Once it starts to falter, or violates the fundamental principles of government, it will sooner of later invite the wrath of the people. The majority of the people will get disenchanted with its waywardness and will desert it.

I strongly support Jaycee's idea that if the Chinese find that Umno-BN is not a serving vehicle for Chinese interests in politics, it will be prudent for MCA to find a more effective way to represent the Chinese.

It is only a myth that Umno-BN has no replacement or alternative. History has amply proven that many political parties in Asia, which were at one time unsinkable like Umno, are now virtually extinct.
