It used to be that at this time of the year, one smells, hears and sees the signs of the season of festivities either at the malls or over the media. However, with the Internet and modern media, it seems that one can only see and hear the season of elections looming.

Our new PM is making all the right sound bites about anti-corruption, honest hard work and justice. At every eateries either at the high-class mall or the mamak stalls, I hear people talking about him and their hope that he will clean up Malaysia and built "first world software".

Malaysians are an optimistic and tolerant lot and can come together for such wonderful ideals.

Unfortunately, we have politicians to screw things up. We must give kudos to Pak Lah for getting his priorities right - the next election. The buzz he is now generating at Bangsar and the gerai in Terengganu clearly shows he is succeeding.

He is reaching people who have been apathetic or have been disillusioned. They want to believe him. They want to believe he can do it and they want to give him the chance. We love the underdog and we are incredible giving to "the good guy" (Ever notice the popularity of corny movies and stories in our cinemas and TV"

PAS is definitely in a panic.

Other than the fact that they even bother to response to my obviously low-intellect argument about their holy cause, they have raised the pitch on the Islamic agenda. They have put on a show just to reiterate their stand on Islamic state (Isn't there something in Quran against showboating? I guess it's OK so long as it's a nice looking book on Islam and everyone dress in the proper costumes).

They are digging up as much as they can on the wrongs that Umno is still doing but what they are doing wrong is going around telling people that their version of Islamic state is exactly what we want. That we just don't understand it.

Other than the fact that they are clearly contradicting themselves in their argument like Islam is equal but non-Muslim will be treated differently, there is no questioning of Islamic law but there will be transparency and democracy etc, the biggest problem I have? - telling me that I am some ignoramus is no way to win my vote.

These guys definitely are confused and should stick to what they have always done - negative campaigning against Umno. The fact that they cannot tell me these guys are desperate.

This is definitely the season for election. To all my fellow Malaysian, let's feast on the comics that are politicians and good wishes to all good men and women.
