Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah should be voted in by Umno members as their new president to enable him to be given the chance to prove that he can better run a nation like Malaysia.

Being a prime minister is not about giving undue prominence to Oxbridge products, as people did four decades ago. Nowadays, there are scores of centres of excellence around the world that are as good if not better.

Mahathir himself always respected Razaleigh more than the naively pious Pak Lah. He even secretly tried to bring Razaleigh back to the main fold of Umno some six years ago, with the hope that Razaleigh would be the custodian of his legacy.

This was not to be mainly because of a debt of gratitude for the blind loyalty exhibited by Pak Lah as extolled by some Umno veterans

Let us see Ku Li taking over from Pak Lah and we can hope for a better future for Malaysia.
