MIC Wanita strictly condemns the statement issued by Isma’s head of family and society bureau, Dr Nur Farrah Nadia Najib.

Being a women herself and a doctor, she should be ashamed of issuing such statements.

What is worse is the fact that gender bias happens even in the public domain, and most recently even women are putting that extra effort to make sure their fellow women are held down in life.

How could someone, a woman no less, make such a statement?

And what is ironic is the fact that this woman happens to be a medical doctor who obviously studied hard and is now practicing medicine. Does she mean she can have the opportunities and others can’t?

 

Being a high income nation means both genders should be treated and seen equally.

Fifty-five percent of our labour force is expected to be made up of women by 2015.

We were going to be at par with international standards and now you have someone who is saying women should stay in the house and with this kind of statements. Where are we heading?

We should be heading forward not backwards as what Dr Nur Farrah is trying to say here.

 

Echoing what our Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak said, women should be the pillar of this country one of the driving force building our nation economically, we should be equal with upcoming nations, for that all women’s should be contributing their part to it not just sitting home.

 

Wanita MIC is fully against this statement by Dr Nur Farrah her statement is very discriminating to all working women’s in our country.
