The amount in question is RM2.6 billion. Not RM2,600 or even 2.6 million. It is RM2.6 billion which is 1 percent of the Malaysian Gross National Product. That is 1 percent of the value of all finished goods and services in Malaysia. It is a ridiculous amount of money deposited into an individual’s account. Not just any individual but the personal account of the prime minister of Malaysia.

Let’s get this straight; no matter how it is spun it is legally, morally and ethically wrong. There is no CEO or any manager in the corporate world who could get away with such a humongous amount of money deposited into their private account without legal action or investigation by the Inland Revenue Services.

No world leader of any developed nation with a semblance of democracy would allow this to happen. It becomes a question of great national security.

Today minister Azalina Othman Said said that the RM2.6 billion was used for his political work in his constituency of Pekan. If in fact the honourable MP of Pekan did spent RM2.6 billion ahead of the 13th general election (GE), then the people of Pekan must ask what development did the RM2.6 billion go to?

The more pertinent question is the legality of spending that amount of money. Election Commission law states that an MP candidate is allowed to spend only RM200,000 on his campaign. What action is to be taken against the MP for Pekan?

Apart from the legality of the prime minister receiving RM2.6 billion or 1 percent of the Malaysian GNP into his personal account, there is the question of morality. The fact that few from his Umno or BN leadership protested to this shows a lack of moral understanding of what is right and wrong.

At a time when many Malaysians are struggling to make ends meet what with the steep increase in the cost of living, we wonder what the PM has done with RM2.6 billion.

Ethically it is also wrong because there is the question of motive when somebody donates that kind of money to the leader of a nation. How can the PM except this kind of money from any persons as it now brings into question his loyalty and his integrity towards doing what is right for Malaysia. It becomes a question of national security.

This especially when it was donated by a foreigner from the middle east who remains till this day - anonymous. Has our security been compromised by foreign powers? Is Malaysia safe by having a leader who has received a substantial amount of money from a foreign entity or person.

Any official in government or corporate who has received this kind of money into a personal account would have been relieved of his duty immediately and investigated. Here we have the prime minister of Malaysia having admitted to receiving that kind of money into his personal account with no accountability of where it went still having excess to sensitive national information and leading the country. This is seriously wrong and is putting Malaysia in grave danger.

All in the ruling coalition of Barisan Nasional who continue to allow their chairperson to get away with this crime is guilty by association. It is wrong no matter how you spin it!
