I refer to the statement from the inspector-general of police (IGP) as well as the furore caused by the seminar in UiTM, here and here .

I urge the Christians not to make a big meal of this storm in a teh tarik cup. In Malaysia it is illegal to propagate any other religion to Muslims and these irresponsible organisers are using this to justify their seminars. So be it, let them be. Remember in Malaysia one is prosecuted instantly if Muslims are offended but the same treatment is not accorded in non-Muslims are offended, although our laws have provisions for both.

This is Malaysia, the laws and rules are interpreted in favour of the ruling party and actions or prosecution has always been alleged to be discriminatory. On the reply by IGP that no laws says that police can’t give talk at anti-Christian seminar, I am quite sure the law does not allow the police to be discriminatory or one-sided but then we will leave it to the legal eagles to comment on this.

Don’t even bother making police report asking police to investigate as nothing will happen. We all know nothing will happen. So why waste our time and resources in making useless police reports?

Today I read that the police are looking for the Australian actress who allegedly ‘kidnapped’ her child from her estranged husband. Surely this is a family matter and not the police place to get involved , but they will say a police report has been filed so they need to investigate but how about the court order for the police to get back the child of a couple whose father converted to Islam and return the child to the mother. The police won’t accept or understand that they have to protect all Malaysians irrespective of politics, race or religion, unfortunately this will never happen in Malaysia as history and administrators have long put paid to this.

My point is just don’t give a toss about all this anti-Christian seminars, the more you complain the more those organising it think they are doing something important.

Don’t you think UiTM should be holding seminars on human rights, anti-corruption and life skills to get its student ready for the adult life? Shouldn’t that be more important? To me it shows the shallowness and misplaced priorities and it shows in the quality of graduates who are entering our job market from these institutions.

If there is proof of foreign preachers masquerading as football coaches or consultants trying to convert Muslims, am sure those culprits would have been arrested and publically paraded aplenty already.

The reasons there are no prosecution to date is maybe there isn’t any, merely gossip and rumours.

One has to be strong in one’s own faith, no need to fear other religion, we just have to show our children and family the right path according to our own children and they will be fine. No need to demonise other religions.

My personal opinion is those who are organising these seminars genuinely fear Muslims converting to Christianity but the reason for that is not Christian propagating it but those Muslims becoming disillusioned with how this country and religion is being run.

Next time, you see someone organising a seminar such as this, send them a thank you card , say thank you for keeping Christianity in the lime light and giving it the respect it deserves.
