I refer to the latest so-called resolution from the European Parliament . Why do they even bother? Do these many resolutions from bodies such as the European Parliament and United Nations actually mean anything except create, read and file into archives only. For heaven’s sake, do they know where Malaysia even is?

These are useless resolutions that allow the proponents and supporters to feel that they have done something and feel good about them sitting in their nice house in their nice country ruled by just and fair governments.

How many of these resolutions have we seen against despots of African countries and so on, has anything come out of it?

Can anyone tell me what purpose these resolutions achieve? It is a circus show, they will issue resolution , some will say well done and they care about the rest of the world, others will say these ‘white folks’ don’t understand the intricacies of the local culture and governance. Yes correct, here we don’t care about corruption but we go mental when someone wears a knee-length skirt to a public building.

These resolutions will only be respected and considered worth something if they are backed up by some action, even passive action such as travel restrictions for those who are named as the offenders in the resolutions at the very least. They should be coordinated action against those who they issue these resolutions, otherwise just keep quiet and don’t waste anyone’s time by issuing worthless resolutions.

Not sanctions, as they hurt the people already oppressed, but targeted punitive action such as travel bans on these despots and their immediate family and circle, prohibition of foreign bank accounts maintenance as well as a total ban on any property purchase.

Otherwise these resolutions are as useful as the many police report filed by many of the one-person-shows masquerading as NGOs in Malaysia.

Give me a break.
