The Democratic Action Party (DAP) condemns the attacks in Brussels yesterday which took the lives of at least 20 and injured 200 others.

Over the past 10 days, there have also been several heinous attacks which took place around the world, including a car bomb in Ankara, Turkey which killed 37 people on March 13, two suicide bombers in Maiduguri, Nigeria on March 16 which left a death toll of 24, and a suicide bomber in Istanbul, Turkey on March 19 where five died.

Each loss of life is tragic and senseless. Like all peace-loving citizens of the world, we strongly reject violence and attacks which are the doing of cowardly persons.

Let us unite in solidarity with Brussels to prove that threats and terror cannot prevail or rile up hatred. Hatred is not the solution to conflict. We must remain committed to the values of democracy and solidarity to uphold peace in the face of conflict.
