I share the views of Disgusted Driver in that the traffic cops should start working. Particularly in Johor Baru at a road junction at Taman Daya. Many motorists were caught making 'illegal' turns at the traffic lights there.
But owing to the part closure of the Pandan interchange, traffic to Kota Tinggi, Desaru, Ulu Tiram and all the housing estates from Taman Johor Jaya upwards has to be diverted through Taman Daya and Taman Mount Austin.
It is at the traffic lights at Taman Daya that the traffic police should help to ease congestion. Many motorists are not sure of the detoured direction and by the time they are at the traffic lights they find themselves in the wrong lane.
And when they try to make it to the correct lane, they are said have committed an offence by queue queue. How is the poor motorist supposed to know that he cannot make a turn from that lane? The only directional arrow sign on the road at the junction is covered up by waiting vehicles.
As he is not familiar with the traffic situation in that area, how in the world is he to know that he cannot make a turn from the outer lane? Moreover, owing to the congestion, they are literally forced to go onto the wrong lane.
If the traffic cops do not want to help, then they should stay back at their office. If they want to help, then they should direct traffic and not be 'trigger happy' in issuing summonses.
