I was taken back by the recent news that there is a kindergarten in Bandar Sri Damansara which is allegedly preaching hatred and corrupting the minds of their children. Young minds are like a pouch, which will absorb anything which appeals to its senses from the immediate environment, sound, sight smell, etc.

We should not teach political religion to young minds which encourages violence and hatred. Man is a supreme talisman created by God, why then are we nurturing them whims and fancies of vain imagination of few bigots and racist who have misplaced or twisted understanding of their own religion.

“That which is of paramount importance for the children, that which must precede all else, is to teach them the oneness of God and the laws of God. For lacking this, the fear of God cannot be inculcated, and lacking the fear of God an infinity of odious and abominable actions will spring up, and sentiments will be uttered that transgress all bounds.

“Schools must first train the children in the principles of religion, so that the Promise and the Threat recorded in the Books of God may prevent them from the things forbidden and adorn them with the mantle of the commandments; but this in such a measure that it may not injure the children by resulting in ignorant fanaticism and bigotry.” - Baha’u’llah, The Compilation of Compilations, vol. They should be trained in the observances and laws of religion; and thereafter, in such branches of knowledge as are of benefit, and in commercial pursuits that are distinguished for integrity, and in deeds that adorn them with wisdom, good conduct, integrity and righteousness, not to device plays and dramas to instigate and provoke young minds to hate another human being whoever he may be.

The hallmark of the future of mankind and human being is to love one another. The children must be guided from the darkness of ignorance, and to the light of true understanding ensuring the peace and tranquillity of mankind, and provide all the means by which they can be established.

Let the future children of this planet earth prevent dissensions that divide , through the power of the creator, be blotted out from its face of the earth, and all mankind become the upholders of peace tranquility.

Let us leave behind a legacy to our future generation, a world which is devoid of aggression and violence. Let them feel about ourselves with pride that we tried all our best to promote oneness of mankind which will lead to love and unity.
