With regards to the letter 'Islamophobia' in national schools , I must say that I disagree.

From my experience, apart from the fear of their children not getting a quality education, many Chinese parents stay away from the national schools because of they fear the 'Melayu-ism' or 'bumiputera-ism' of these schools.

Non-Malay parents fear their children will lose their cultural identity. There is no Islamophobia. They are not 'afraid' of Islam as they know that non-Muslims pupils in national schools are not subjected to an Islamic education with the exception of History.
