It is amusing to read Professor P Ramasamy’s concern over the Cameron Highlands parliamentary seat when DAP is faced with internal turmoil. DAP, as usual, would like to point fingers despite its own house not being in order. Professor Ramasamy should be more concerned about their weak coalition formed only for the purpose of winning elections. It is them, the opposition, who always lock horns when it comes to general election seats.

The recently ‘hot’ Cameron Highlands Parliament seat traditionally belonged to MIC and there won’t be any changes to it. MIC president Dr S Subramaniam has said that the party will not be sharing their seats with any other Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties.

Under Dr Subramaniam’s leadership, there has been new strength and energy to build back the party. Thus, the reason we are doubling our effort by going to the ground, meeting locals and addressing their issues. Our main concern, especially for the Wanita wing, is to focus our energy and efforts to ensure a major victory for Barisan Nasional in the coming elections.

We have such a charismatic and exemplary leader to lead our party, therefore the best and right thing for us to do now is to offer ourselves to serve the people. It is the party president’s prerogative to choose the right young and vibrant candidates for all seats.

Seat feuding maybe a norm in the opposition but in Barisan Nasional, we are united in fighting a common opponent to ensure BN wins more seats and with bigger margins these coming elections.
