Why not have CCTV at all counters that deal with the public?

I was green with envy when I read the latest idea emanating out of Terengganu which is to install closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras in cinemas and beam it live to the lobby to cut out undesirable activities, as reported here.

I fully support this idea and would recommend that the person who came out with this idea be nominated for the 2017 Innovation Ideas Award. Who says Malaysia can’t come up with world class thought leadership? Brilliant and awesome.

As this idea is such a super idea , I am suggesting that the same idea is implemented throughout Malaysia at all government payment and service counters such as land office, immigration , police , local government and any other counters that deal with the public.

There should be CCTV cameras pointed at the counters without revealing anything on the computer screen so that all undesirable and unhealthy activities such as bribery (both giving and taking), slow work process, empty counters and all sort of other undesirable activities can be broadcast live to the respective lobby area.

Wouldn’t this make all our service delivery counters super-efficient and without any complaints of any sort whatsoever in the future?

Performance Management and Delivery Unit (Pemandu), the Special Task Force to Facilitate Business (Pemudah) and Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), please take note.
