LETTER | Mr Arul, corruption is like an illness, a disease to the society. Every country has it, just with different degrees of corruption. Like your body, when you are not feeling well, you must seek a doctor for treatment.

Otherwise, it may develop into more serious illnesses such as tumour or cancer. When that happens, not only you will be suffering but your loved ones will be suffering too. I love my country and that's why I am suffering too.

As a citizen of Malaysia, the bad news and reports by the world reputable media, such as The Economist, BBC, ABC, NBC, CNN, NCBC etc. cannot be ignored in the today's digital world.

It is naive to think we can contain the 1MDB issue within Malaysia as an internal affair and ignore that the world is watching us, and continue to politicise the issue instead of letting the judicial system take care of it, like in the US.

Their Department of Justice has finished their investigation, with solid evidence, and now is in the stage of enforcement, charging and seizing the assets of 1MDB. The dollar amount of these actions is so huge that it cannot be fabricated.

Further, the US judicial system cannot be jeopardised by its DOJ, they verify and declare under the penalty of perjury, as the US will surely at all costs keep the sanctity of its Constitution.

All Malaysians and the rest of the world can download the DOJ report online, and here, you are inviting me to your IMDB Q and A. No, Mr Arul, instead please accept my invitation for us to have dinner together with your parents. I want to meet your family instead of just you. As we all belong to the business community!

1MDB must be diagnosed as a plague, by the size and magnitude of the scandal, and the political manipulation. It has affected all Malaysians and infected many healthy persons like yourself, which you might not notice.

Internationally it has infected the Singapore financial system, but luckily they have a “medication“ to administer, a prescription had been left by the most respected Mr Lee Kuan Yew – zero toleration on corruption.

The US, Australia, Switzerland, England and the latest country to be affected, Indonesia, where a mega-yacht had just been seized. This “plague", if you have found the source and you allow it to move around, more and more countries will be infected.

The 1MDB syndrome is a geopolitical issue. Consequently, Malaysia might be held to ransom because of 1MDB as we are but a small country, and do not have the clout of countries like the US. We cannot withstand a sanction of the US even for six months!

In the past, the previous Malaysian governments, parliament members, cabinet ministers, followed the Federal Constitution. Then 1MDB issue would just be a simple case of "the thief and the law".

Accordingly, just let the judicial system, the police and the judges take care of the issue, or let the Islamic values take care of it. Instead we allowed ugly politicians who politicised the issue in defiance of international opinions. Malaysian reputation has been tarnished, the feelings of its citizens can be summed up in one word, "shameful'.

Quoting Article 10(a), every citizen has the right to freedom of speech and expression, and the time has come, for Parliament is dissolved, and only a caretaker government in place now.

A new 222-member of Parliament will be elected by the people to form the new cabinet following Article 43. Whoever forms the new government, must make the 1MDB issue a priority, with sanctity, integrity, reputation, morals and ethics in mind. If we lose these values, we will be a doomed nation.

Going forward, I just merely want to defend the sanctity of Malaysia's Federal Constitution, which empowered all the official positions. The good reputation of the official positions conferred by the Federal Constitution is not a private property but belongs to the country.

Our constitution does not condone corruption. Be mindful that in Malaysia, whoever desires an official position so much, can only hold it for five years. Let us not allow anyone or any country to smear the Malaysian prime minister's good name.

If news on the 1MDB issue is untrue, let our country provide enough budget for the Prime Minister's Office to sue such untrue defamation as claimed. The rewards of uncovering the truth for the country can be huge.

As for me, l just merely want to bear true faith and allegiance to Malaysia, and wake up all coming Parliament members to be serious when they take the oath to “persevere, protect and defend” our Federal Constitution.

Immediately after the elections, the Muslim world and Muslim Malaysians will welcome the Holy Month of Ramadan and reciting the Holy Quran. I wish you Selamat Hari Raya and 'maaf zahir dan batin' in advance, from the bottom of my heart.
