LETTER | Having served the government faithfully for over thirty-two years, I am ashamed.

I never thought for a moment that I would see the day when our top officers would become jesters and puppets to the tune of the ruling party.

Some even crossed the line to campaign openly for them.

They descended from their high office of trust and impartiality down to the level of downright dishonesty and immorality.

I need not name them here as their antics were well publicised in the media. The chief secretary to the government, as the head of the civil service, could have stopped these transgressions, but he himself was the lead player.

I urge the new government to cleanse the administration of these unworthy characters.

Not only are they tainted and their loyalty in doubt, it will restore the image and morale of the public service to its former glory.
