I refer to the letter Time to kick ass in three main areas .

While I agree these are the areas the require urgent attention, I would like to add the point that these problems are somewhat supplementary to a bigger problem.

The article about the fish rotting from head first by malaysiakini columnist Sim Kwang Yang hits the nail right on head.

Let's face it - the overall governance of this country leaves a lot to be desired. We cry about the problems that crop up all the time but somehow have always failed to remedy them.

The reactions or responses are seemingly always a 'quick-fixes' which do not tackle the root causes. One only has to watch their antics in the Parliament to know whether any of our so-called leaders have any substance or otherwise.

Prevention is better than cure so goes the saying. I fear for that time is running out for our nation if our leaders do not or refuse to wise up to the real problems.

God help us all.
